Soweto History continued

One day during the strife of Apartheid, several thousand youth crowded into this large
Catholic Church for sanctuary.  The soldiers burst in anyway and started shooting at will
(we saw many bullet  holes in the walls and ceiling.)  The students tried to escape out one
set of double doors and many were killed in the chaos.

The soldiers shot off the arms of Jesus and then yelled out,"  Jesus has no
hands, who will save you now."  This was told to us by a black lady that
lived in Soweto at the time.  The story may be one-sided, one never knows.
